Maine Moments

Here are some pictures of Maine. These pictures are not of us (those pictures haven't come out yet), but of Acadia National Park, where we vacationed.Isn't it so beautiful? 

This is Scunic Peninsula, a very natural part of Acadia. This is pebble beach. These pebbles are smoothed by the ocean. Although there looks like many of them, but you're not allowed to take them because if every person that visited took one, there'd be no more left!

Mmm! Maine lobster is so good! You can't identify a male from a female unless you crack it open or the female is ready to hatch eggs.

Eating fried clams are really yummy. We all had a great time eating clams. It's great to dip them in tartar sauce!

Adventure Quest

A great AQ combo (Guardian Only) is to buy the Alkroth Blade, turn yourself into the mighty fire dragon, then switch to the Gaurdian Staff. He does great attacks! For a bonus, go to the Maelstrom part 1 and get Captain Ruharb to fight with you. Then go back to Battleon, restock and fuel with the mighty Water Dragon Blast, Griffin Strike, and the Moglin War Party. Also buy the FireLight Vampragon, fairy godmother or godfather, and the clone. Then go to Plasma Dragons. Defeating all of them and completing the quest gives great XP! Recommended for guardians level 45 and up.

Crazy For Cucumbers!

Yesterday little miss Lulu got to see a Sea Cucumber at the Bar Harbor Oceanarium. She found out that when you squeeze it, it squirts! So she squeezed that poor little cucumber and it squirted all over the little boy next to her. We are having lots of fun at Maine, but we are coming back on this Sunday.

Interviewing Sophia:

What is your favorite sport and why do you love it?

I love swimming because it's not about competing with everyone else to get the gold medal, it's all about racing against yourself and getting your personal best time.

What was one of the most memorable things you have done this year or last year?

Definitely participating in Odyssey Of The Mind. We made it to the World Finals!

What is your best school subject?

Writing. It makes my mind feel free.

What is your favorite food, drink, and dessert?

Decisions, decisions! I like too many different foods to name, but probably fried chicken dumplings. Yummy! My favorite drink without a doubt is raspberry iced tea and my favorite dessert has to be the Phish Food ice cream from Ben & Jerrys.

Swimming Updates: Katie Hoff

Everyone calls her Michael Phelps's sister in swimming. Her name is Katie Hoff. Outstanding in freestyle and breaststroke, she grew up also in NBAC, North Baltimore Aquatic Club. She is swimming a lot, and many mistake this 19 year old for a 24 year old, like Michael Phelps. But she is still 4 years younger, and has a great swimming career coming.

Moving 2 Maine

We're just so excited to finally go go go on our annual family trip to Maine! We will be there for a whole week at our timeshare. Yay! Sophia and Mia are just psyched to go. We will post updates on what we are doing, pictures, and videos! So keep posted, cause we're so coming your way with tons of Maine info!

US Gymnasts are GOLD!

This Olympics, in Beijing, although Chinese gymnasts are strong, team USA managed to put on a good lead and ended up with the team overall silver medal! Congratulations to the whole team! 

P.S. Buy the Team USA official soundtrack with great artists like Sheryl Crow and Taylor Swift. 

Potty-Training Your Child

For us, training Lulu was a difficult challenge. It took about a year, so you need to have lots of patience! We started off by asking her often on whether she would like to go to the bathroom at the time, and showing how to get on the seat and how to use the big girl potty. Be minded that it did not happen immediately. We slowly, gradually, went onto using the pull-ups, where she learned how to tell us when she needed to go potty. Although at the time she did still have a slight problem, we kept on training her. Slowly she has adapted to learning to use the potty, and now wears underwear. If she needs to go to the bathroom, she cannot hold it, but she will usually tell us in advance, before she reaches the point of no return. We are making slow, but steady progress, and soon we hope to get there! But when we do, we'll tell you!

Mia Makes HUGE Improvement!

Lulu can now count to TEN! She is making huge improvement! She attends the local Goddard School, where she has 2 fabulous teachers! Learn and grow, Lulu!

Going For The Gold- Phelps

As many of you know, we are CRAZY about swimming! So we've been up-to-date watching the Beijing Olympics on NBC. EVERY NIGHT. So we've seen it: so far, Michael Phelps, swimming god, is planning on getting gold medals in every SINGLE EVENT he's swimming to beat Mark Spitz's record. It won't be too easy, though. Many swimmers will not let Michael swim to the gold medal. So far he's tied to Spitz. If you want to see whether he beats this medal record, tune in at 8:00 ET to watch swimming live!
